Say hello to Ophelia!

Ophelia is a 6-year-old Chinese Crested and the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet. She weighs 8 kg and measures about 13 inches at the shoulder.

It breaks my heart to say this, but I’ve come to the difficult decision to rehome my beautiful girl due to changes in my life circumstances and financial difficulties. I’m no longer able to provide for her in the way she truly deserves. She is the love of my life, and she deserves more than what I can offer her right now.

Ophelia absolutely loves people—you can count on her asking for cuddles! She’s the kind of dog who will happily sit on your lap and spend the whole afternoon napping while you watch TV. She does enjoy going for walks, but she’s also perfectly content with short potty breaks.

She loves her toys and is a great eater… she’ll definitely try to convince you to share a piece of your cheese!

A bit about Ophelia:

  • Fully potty trained

  • Sleeps through the night

  • Spayed and fully vaccinated

  • Knows commands: place, sit, down, crate, no, come and release

  • Walks well on leash- heel position

  • Great appetite

  • Loves plush toys and chew bones

  • Excellent at the groomer

  • Enjoys small to medium walks

  • A total couch potato—happy with staying in

  • Very loving and affectionate with people

  • Outgoing with humans

  • Does well with pet sitters and staying in other homes

Ophelia is incredibly gentle and loving with people, but she’s not a big fan of other dogs. She can be reactive with some dogs on walks, so I’ve found it best to avoid interactions. She tends to be quite selective. She doesn’t like big dogs and prefers those closer to her size.

Ophelia loves adults and older teens who know how to respect her space. She has shown curiosity towards smaller children, but I never tasted an introduction.

She currently has health insurance, which can be transferred to you upon adoption. The plan covers 80% of expenses after premium and 100% of medications. The monthly fee is $86. Ophelia is currently on anti-anxiety medication, and I wouldn’t recommend discontinuation without proper veterinary assistance

The biggest challenge, and the main reason I can no longer care for her, is her separation anxiety. Ophelia has struggled with this since she was a puppy, and despite my efforts, I haven’t been able to fully help her overcome it. She truly needs a home where someone can be with her all the time.

Ophelia is the type of dog who you need to build a relationship of mutual respect and love. She takes time to deeply bond, but once she has recognized you as an authority, she will always obey you.

Due to previous pancreatitis, she is on a low fat veterinary diet and will need to continue.

I love my baby girl more than anything, and my only hope is to find someone who will love her just as much and give her the life she deserves.
