Check out our Available Dogs!
If you have read the bio of a dog which you believe could be a good match, please fill out our application form.
Please note that at this time, we are only reviewing applications for specific dog(s). We do not take open applications with no dog selection as we do not have the resources to keep your information on file for future possible matches.
Our adoption process is detailed under Available Dogs here.
Your support can make a huge difference in the lives of dogs in need. SDRBC's rescue efforts are completely funded by public donations, and we need your help to continue providing for these deserving animals. Please consider donating monthly to support our work and help us make a positive impact on the world, one dog at a time.
All eligible donations will receive tax receipts through Canada Helps.

Here at Small Dog Rescue BC Society, we rely on all our amazing fosters to help us care for our dogs until they are ready to find their forever homes. As the number of dogs rescued increases, our need for fosters is constantly growing.
We supply everything the dog needs, including food, bed, leash, harness, grooming, and vetting. Some fosters also supply extras for their dogs, like toys and treats.
Foster requirements:
- Must live in the Lower Mainland
- Have own vehicle to transport dog to/from vet appointments
- No young children. These dogs haven't been tested with children before they come into our care. For the safety of young children and the dogs, we don't want any accidents to happen and want the dogs to be assessed before living with young kids.
- No other foster dogs in your care/home.
Fosters are responsible for:
- Reinforcing good behaviours
- Potty training if needed (Please note housetrained dogs are not guaranteed)
- Socialization outside the home
- Communicating with us about the dog’s behaviour, personality, and/or any issues that may arise
- Taking dogs to and from vet visits in Surrey, BC (Fleetwood area)
Please note: Because our vets, other services, and foster network are in Langley, we are looking for foster families that live in Langley or nearby—South Surrey, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford, etc. Some exceptions may be made where foster homes are flexible and can play doggy chauffeur!
