Georgie is a 1-year-old, 15 lb Border Terrier mix who is looking for a patient, loving home where he can continue to build his confidence. His ideal home would include another friendly, confident dog who can be his companion and mentor. Georgie is extremely playful once he feels comfortable and would thrive with adults or a family with older teens who understand that he may need a little time to settle in and feel safe.

 

Georgie can be very shy when first meeting new people, but behind that initial uncertainty is a sweet, affectionate and playful young dog. He responds beautifully to kindness and positive reinforcement and will benefit from a family willing to continue working on his confidence through gentle, reward-based training. With patience, consistency and another dog to show him the way, Georgie has all the potential to become a wonderful, devoted companion.

🐾  Georgie's Story​

 

Georgie’s journey started as a stray in a rural California town, where he was seen hanging around a market area for approximately three weeks. He was eventually safely live-trapped and brought into the care of our foster home in Wasco, California. It took Georgie some time to learn that he was safe and to begin trusting the people around him, but with lots of love and affection, he slowly came out of his shell. Now he’s ready for a home that will give him that same patience, security and encouragement as he takes his next big step.
