ROO

ROO – 2 yr old Spayed Female Blue Heeler

Best Fit Home:

  • Active household with working dog experience

  • Someone dedicated to continuing her training and providing enrichment

  • Great with respectful kids (loves her foster’s grandkids ages 3–11)

  • Only dog in home due to some resource guarding behaviours

Roo is a very affectionate, sweet & silly little heeler.  She is typical of the breed in that she is very intelligent, bright and energetic!  She loves to play fetch and go on daily long walks. She has great leash manners.

Roo does attach to her favourite person and toys so being the only dog in the home is best.  She is working with a dog trainer/walker and is pretty neutral to dogs out and about but does not enjoy the dog park atmosphere.   Roo is highly trainable and will need someone who can work with her herding instincts around movement such as bicycles.  She also loves her off-leash beach time.

In her foster home, she’s already mastered calm mealtimes, crate training, housetraining, and commands like sit, recall, and go to your bed. She’s food motivated, making her a quick learner, and her foster can easily picture her excelling in agility or dog sports.  She would love someone who enjoys the outdoors and can provide structure and continue training her to be her best doggy self.
