Alonso - 3 yr old 15lb, Beagle/Pug mix, neutered male

Our boy Alonso has quite the story!  Seen and pulled off the euthanization list, he missed his 1st ride because he got dropped on the way to the transport.vehicle....on the run for a few hours he was finally caught and was set to go back to the shelter.  My friend said no way and put him into a foster home where he stayed for a month before I was asked to take him.

No issues this transport but a few days into the foster experience he was lost. Luckily he still had a collar, harness and leash on.

Hiring a professional dog searcher and after 2 month's of very little sightings we were able to try to catch him.  He outsmarted us and managed to stay out there for another 4 mo's with no sightings.  Then we got the call, ....our boy was found in a dumpster behind a building....beside the SPCA of all places.  Somehow he defied the odds and was found in pretty good shape...I think he found a food source.  It was an amazing reunion but as you can imagine he was now very leery of people.

We decided he would stay here for foster at Karma Farm with our pack and made sure he was microchipped and got his own gps collar. Slowly he came around and has become such a character.  He loves playing with his cohorts, especially Lulu and would love a home with another dog to play with.  He enjoys going out with the dog walkers now and is slowly getting out into the world.

We are looking for the perfect home that will coax him out of his shyness to be his very best dog! Another dog in the home will be a huge asset.

SDRBC allows a sleepover period. Our goal is to make sure everyone agrees on the match.

Alonso's adoption fee is $ 700.00 + pst and will go towards his neuter, full blood panel including testing for heart worm and tick borne diseases (negative), DA2PP & Rabies shots, wormer, microchip and transport costs to BC from California.  All SDRBC dogs receive a free month of Trupanion pet insurance.

Alonso is currently being fostered in Langley BC. If you'd like to see if he might be a match please email Karen at  smalldogrescuebc@gmail.com
