TOMMY- PENDING ADOPTION - 7 yr old 11.5 lb Neutered Male Min Pin/Chihuahua mix

**** Great family dog

**** Non barker

**** Can be an only dog

**** Ok with cats

**** Toy hoarder

Tommy is the sweetest boy! He is playful and curious about everything you're doing. He loves walks in the sunshine, but can be stubborn when it's raining! He is great on leash, and will trot along happily beside you. Not reactive to birds/squirrels/cats at all. He can walk surprisingly fast for a little guy!

He gets the zoomies inside and will chase his favorite ball but has shown some resource guarding with his toys. He loves nothing more than to be held like a baby and snuggled after a walk. He will let you know he wants to be picked up by putting his front paws on your legs and throwing his head back! He loves people (especially kids) and other dogs of all sizes but doesn't seem sure how to play with them just yet.

Tommy's ideal home would be with someone that is home most of the time. He is learning to trust that his people will return home after going out without him.  Tommy is also not a barker, is very treat-motivated and a quick learner who is willing to please!

Tommy does have a couple of medical issues. After being in our care since the beginning of December and while out on a sleepover with a pending adopter he had a seizure and then 2 more later that day. After a night in emergency he was put on anti seizure medication which he will stay on (3 x a day pills) for life.  He has not had another seizure and we have no idea why this happened and unfortunately have no history before coming into our care.  Also on exam it was noted he had a pin in his right hind leg. This was due to a surgery to repair a broken leg.

Tommy's  adoption fee is ($ 800.00 + tax) $896.00 and will go towards his dental cleaning, full blood panel including testing for heart worm and tick borne diseases (negative), DA2PP & Rabies shots, microchip and transport costs to BC from California.  All SDRBC dogs receive a free month of Trupanion pet insurance.

He is currently being fostered in South Surrey BC.
