Ruby - 15 months old, 15 lb Boston Terrier, spayed female
Ruby came to us after an improper home placement from another rescue. We were called in after her owners had tried to work through her issues around severe lack of human socialization with no success.
Ruby was brought to Karma Farms to live with our pack so that she could learn how to be a dog.
After 6 months we feel that she is ready to continue her training in her forever home.
Ruby is wonderful with other dogs, however has an extreme fear of humans.
This usually exhibits itself in one of two ways:
1. Retreat
2. Reactivity towards men in the home
Even after 6 months of being in a home, Ruby won't let anyone other than her main caregiver touch her.
Ruby would do best in a home with a professional dog trainer, or someone who has similar type experience.
In addition to this, since Ruby has done so well in a pack experience we will only be considering applications with one or more dogs in the home.
Ruby is adorable, has the funniest personality, loves chasing balls and snuggling with her pack members.
She will require a home with a fenced in yard.
Ruby will be the best dog if we can find someone to put the time, heart and training into her so that she can show her amazing Boston character.
Due to the probability of Ruby needing multiple meet and greets we will need to prioritize applicants in the lower mainland.
SDRBC allows a sleepover period. Our goal is to make sure everyone agrees on the match.
Ruby's adoption fee is $ 896.00 and will go towards her spaying, blood work including testing for heart worm and tick borne diseases (negative), DA2PP, Bordatella & Rabies shots, wormer, microchip. All SDRBC dogs receive a free month of Trupanion pet insurance.
